Christian Blind Mission International

The Christian Blind Mission is dedicated to preventing and curing blindness as well as the education and rehabilitation of people who are blind or have other disabilities. Working in over 100 countries, it offers hope for the visually impaired, hearing impaired, and those requiring orthopaedic aids and rehabilitation.

So, when we were offered the chance to support the mission with the help of The Alfred Hospital by donating medical consumable products from around Australia, we jumped at the opportunity.

Throughout 2006, Symbion Hospital Services brought together medical products from gauze to gowns from as far a field as Townsville and Hobart to be sent overseas. With containers going to Liberia and Afghanistan over the last few months, we're delighted to have made a difference to the lives of children and adults in some of the world's poorest countries.

Symbion Hospital Services would also like to thank the generous donation of Toll Holdings, which donated all transport costs to Melbourne.

Should any hospital wish to donate quality used equipment to the Christian Blind Mission, please contact Ken McDermid on (03) 9873 7600 or go to www.cbmi.org.au
