A long and proud commitment to pharmacy

Symbion Pharmacy Services' commitment to the Pharmacy industry dates back more than 160 years. FH Faulding & Co Limited was founded in 1845 by Francis Hardy Faulding with a chemist shop in Rundle Street, Adelaide. 

From these humble beginnings, Faulding grew to an international, publicly listed company with a turnover in excess of $2.5 billion, employing more than 4,000 people.

Faulding was then acquired by Mayne Group (Australia) in 2001.  Mayne at the time was one of Australia's largest transport operators and in 1986 began its successful health care operations. 
Over the next several years, Mayne Group expanded its commitment to the pharmaceutical distribution business with a number of smaller additions.

Consequently, in November 2005, Mayne Group decided to demerge into two separate entities – Mayne Pharma, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products and Symbion Health covering not only the Pharmaceutical distribution business, but diagnostics, pathology and medical centres.

As of November 2008, a new and exciting chapter has been written with Symbion Health selling Symbion Pharmacy Services to The Zeullig Group. Zeullig is a Swiss owned, Honk Kong based pharmaceutical distributor with an extensive distribution network across Asia.
